On the 12th of April last, the grand vizier was beheaded at Constantinople; after his head was exposed three days. The grand signior seemed inclined to save him: but nothing could satisfy the divan and populace, but his death; so enraged were they against him, for not quelling in its infancy a revolt in Georgia, occasioned by
the Georgians refusing to yield the usual tribute of their finest girls to the seraglio.
